St Brelade Country Fete

What are you doing for the Queen's Jubilee? In St Brelade, Jersey, I'm going to head off on Sunday to Reg's Garden. It's a great garden to visit anytime, but this day it is going to be a hive of activity. Why not come along too? And it raises money for three local charities, as well.

St Brelade Country Fete

Entry to the fete is FREE

Two days to go to what will be the largest event the Parish of St Brelade has been involved in since the days of the fetes held around St Aubin's harbour.

The main idea of holding the fete in Reg's Garden, was to be nearer to the more populated area of the parish and of course to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee year. The garden is only half a mile from Red Houses.Easy walking distance and pavements all the way.

The fete will be open from 11am till 7.30 pm and all car parking will be in the field opposite Silver Springs, supervised by the ATC and the St Brelade Honorary Police

The fete is aimed at the family, with field sports such as Tug o' War, Egg and Spoon and Sack racing.

The lucky dip will be topped up with a hundred 'Dips' during the day, and children will be able to feed the fish.

The twenty foot high inflatable slid and bouncy castles will be a huge attraction and as will listening to and watching the performers on the stage, some may be as young as Alfie, a ten year old who writes and sings to his own guitar, and his fans.

"St Brelade Youth Project entertainers for St Brelade Fete"' will In most cases, be performing on the stage for the first time.

Official opening will performed by Ian Gorst, the Chief Minister and Miss St Brelade, at 12.30.

While being entertained for seven hours with jazz, folk music and beautiful singing, you can be satisfying your taste buds from the various stalls with hot and cold food.

In an adjoining field there will be car-boot and craft stalls.

To be a bit naughty, there will be stocks to throw wet sponges at, preferably while your favourite politician has his/her's head stuck in it.

The three main recipients of any funds made on the day will be:

St Brelade Youth Club,
Maision St Brelade
Les Amis.
